Divali isn’t complete without those tasty Indian Sweets! Use Nariel Coconut Oil to make this sweet and delicious Jalebi! Here’s the recipe:

Batter Ingredients:
-2 cups flour
-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
-1/4 tsp baking soda
-1 cup yogurt
-1 tbsp Nariel coconut oil
-1/4 tsp turmeric powder or 3 drops orange food colouring
-1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
-1/2 cup water .
For Frying:
-2 cups Nariel coconut oil .
Syrup:
-1 cup sugar
-1/2 cup water
-1 tbsp lemon juice
-3 cardamom pods .
Directions:
– In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Then add the yogurt, water, cardamom and turmeric/colouring.
– Cover and place in the fridge for 24 hours to ferment.
-Once the batter has fermented, add the sugar and water to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
-Add 3 crushed cardamom pods and lemon juice. Simmer until a sticky syrup develops, about 5 minutes. -Whisk the batter and add a tablespoon of water if the batter looks too thick. Transfer to a squeeze bottle or piping bag and snip the corner of the bag to your desired thickness.
-Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat until it reaches 350°F.
-Squeeze the batter into the hot oil, making small circular spiral shapes.
-Fry jalebis until they are crispy on both sides, about 2 mins on each side -Remove and immediately dip in the syrup mixture. Remove from syrup, allow to cool and serve.
