We definitely do! So naturally, here’s a delicious recipe for everyone’s favourite Divali Sweet! We’ve made this timeless treat with our Nariel Coconut Oil! Look out for Nariel at your favourite grocery stores or shop it online!
✨ Gulab Jamun✨
2 cups flour
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
3 tbsp margarine (cold)
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup evaporated milk
Nariel coconut oil for frying
Sugar glaze
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
Directions
-In a large bowl add all the dry ingredients along with the cold margarine, using clean fingers cut butter into the dry ingredients.
-Then to the dry ingredients add all the condensed milk and slowly pour the evaporated milk in mixing well in between until a soft and slightly sticky dough is formed.
Let the dough rest for 10 mins. After the dough has rested divide it in pieces about 2 tbsp worth. Roll each piece in to a tapered log. Add rolled gulab jamun into a preheated pot of coconut oil on med heat and fry for 5-6 mins or until golden brown.
– Remove gulab jamun from the oil and drain on paper towels.
– Prepare sugar glaze but adding the sugar, water and ginger to a sauce pan on low to medium heat. Let the mixture simmer until it starts to crystallize (takes about 12-15mins).
– Add drained and cooled gulab jamun to a large heat safe bowl and pour the sugar glaze over the it and mix well. Can be stored in an air tight container for up to 4 days.
