ONE BOWL CHOCOLATE CAKE
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar (buttermilk)
1/2 cup Simply Natural Coconut Oil
2 large eggs + zest
2 tap vanilla
1 cup boiling water
Method:
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Grease 9×13 baking pan and set aside.
Whisk dry ingredients – flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt
in a large bowl.
Add wet ingredients – buttermilk, Simply Natural, eggs + zest and vanilla to the dry
ingredients. Mix on medium speed using a hand mixer until combined.
Slowly pour in hot water and mix on low speed until combined. Be sure to scrape the
bowl while mixing. Continue mixing until well combined.
Pour into the baking pan and bake for 35-40mins. Cool completely before frosting and
decorating.
